Washers don't fit bags well, they're either too large or too small. The stream of water fills the bag and causes it to fold over and self seal.
Thank you Charlotte for you review. In six years of testing this product, with multiple homes, we have never had the 'self seal' issue you described. It would be useful for us to know what brand of plastic bags you used with the BagWasher. In our experience, when the bags are slid over the bagwasher, and pulled all the way down, the bags stay open so that the sides of the bag cannot make contact. I did send you a private email, I hope to hear from you soon. The BagWasher is made specifically to hold open the most common standard-sized bags (like Zip-Loc) during the wash and dry process. The 'sliding zipper style' of those bags do not fit on the BagWasher. We did not opt to accomodate the 'slide-loc' bags because they are not as easily recycled. We are working on other sizes of the BagWasher. Thanks again for your input. And! Thank you for reusing, reducing and recycling.
These are good and work, but they're large to store. The large BagWasher is too big (by just a little bit) for bags with the slider. Bags have to be set out because they don't come out dry from the dishwasher. I'm glad I got them but they aren't as useful as originally thought.
Happy to hear the you are glad that you got the BagWasher, and thank you for your feedback. As a very small start-up, our original BagWashers are designed to fit the most commonly available zip-loc bags made by SCJohnson, Zip-Loc. The slide-loc bag are too narow to fit on the original BagWasher. Due to our dedicated customers and the popularity of BagWasher, we are developing plans for dfferent size BagWasher frames.
Not unlike other plastic containers your bags will often have some water droplet. The bags then dry when left with in the dishwasher of on the counter. There are many reasons that the BagWasher is a friend of Mother Nature, rfirst educe the amount of plastic waste to the landfill, second, using less waster to handwash the bags. Thanks again! And thank you for reducing, reusing and recycling.
The bag washer is a great idea. However, I had two major problems. One, when the dry cycle was complete, the bag was still wet on the inside near the top. Two the frame stretched the bag to the point where it will not close properly.
The concept is excellent, but the product did not work

Ellen,
Thank you for your reply and information. First, not unlike other plastic food containers like Glad, don't thoroughly dry in the dishwasher. You can restassured that the bag is thoroughly clean and BagWasher has saved you time and water. Our future plans include a range of different sizes to accomodate different sized bags, including vacuum sealed and sous vide bags. The BagWasher structure doesn't expand or contract.
However, you are able to reuse that bag for items that you may not need 100% closure to be done. Or, of course, effecively recycle the bag.
Preformed as promised. Team replaced a order that was lost and did not arrive.
Thank you for your order Drew. Thank you for reusing, reducing and recycling!!
